From the Garden to the Farm… by Perrine

Located in the Carrère neighborhood of Le Lamentin, the agritourism complex «La Ferme de Perrine» has been offering farm tours in a welcoming setting for 25 years. Their motto: To showcase, promote, and celebrate local products!

From the garden…

Set in a magnificent location, orchids, palm trees, and fruit trees are just a few examples of the impressive diversity of plant species that adorn the site and showcase Martinique’s natural habitat. The owner, Mr. Rose, aims to cultivate his garden using sustainable and organic farming practices.

on the farm

Domestic animals, ornamental animals, and a few wild animals live in the garden. The place is remarkably clean. Roosters run about, and hens lay eggs freely. Mr. Rose mentions that it is important to consume high-quality products: «We have a lot of laying hens, and we encourage people to come buyer and eat fresh eggs from the farm that were laid that day». In front of each habitat, informational signs describe each species' feeding habits and where they come from.

Buy Local

You can shop at the nursery and the butcher shop to buy fresh eggs and local pork, beef, lamb, goat, and poultry, as well as fruits and vegetables. Some of the meat is raised on-site, while other selections come from cooperatives in Martinique. At the restaurant, enjoy local cuisine just like Grandma used to make.

Activities for Everyone

Whether it’s just for a day or a special event, there’s a wide range of activities to choose from. Picnics are allowed, camping is available, and musicians are welcome. There’s a section dedicated to children’s activities, not to mention the Perrine Fair and Festival.

During the school break, there are farm days for the kids: from the cacao tree to the chocolate bar, from the coffee bean to the cup of coffee, and from the cinnamon tree to the cinnamon stick.
