Port\u00e9 par l\u2019Association Ypiranga de Pastinha avec le soutien de l\u2019ADEME, il rappelle qu\u2019environ 30 % des d\u00e9chets pr\u00e9sents dans les poubelles peuvent \u00eatre compost\u00e9s.\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><em>Pens\u00e9 comme un outil p\u00e9dagogique, le Guide pratique du compostage domestique aux Antilles s\u2019adresse aussi bien aux habitants disposant d\u2019un jardin qu\u2019aux personnes vivant en appartement ou souhaitant participer \u00e0 une d\u00e9marche collective. Son contenu a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u en tenant compte des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s locales : climat tropical, types de biod\u00e9chets produits, contraintes d\u2019espace et solutions accessibles.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Environ 100 kg par habitant et par an<\/h2>\n<p>Selon le guide, <strong>30 % des d\u00e9chets <\/strong>pr\u00e9sents dans les poubelles peuvent \u00eatre compost\u00e9s, soit environ <strong>100 kg par habitant et par an<\/strong>. Une partie de ces mati\u00e8res, aujourd\u2019hui destin\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019incin\u00e9ration ou \u00e0 l\u2019enfouissement, peut ainsi \u00eatre valoris\u00e9e directement \u00e0 domicile.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9pluchures, marc de caf\u00e9, feuilles mortes, tontes ou petits d\u00e9chets v\u00e9g\u00e9taux peuvent notamment \u00eatre transform\u00e9s en compost. Le document met en avant plusieurs b\u00e9n\u00e9fices :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>r\u00e9duire le volume des poubelles ;<\/li>\n<li>favoriser le retour de mati\u00e8re organique au sol ;<\/li>\n<li>am\u00e9liorer la fertilit\u00e9 des sols ;<\/li>\n<li>limiter l\u2019\u00e9rosion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dans le contexte antillais, le compost peut \u00e9galement contribuer \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la capacit\u00e9 du sol \u00e0 retenir l\u2019eau, un avantage particuli\u00e8rement utile pendant le <strong>Car\u00eame<\/strong>. Le guide rappelle par ailleurs que le tri \u00e0 la source des biod\u00e9chets doit \u00eatre propos\u00e9 par les collectivit\u00e9s depuis 2024.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h2>Du jardin \u00e0 l\u2019appartement, plusieurs solutions possibles<\/h2>\n<p>Le compostage n\u2019est pas r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux grandes parcelles. Pour les maisons, plusieurs dispositifs sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s : composteurs en bois ou en plastique, compostage en tas ou encore structures en treillis m\u00e9tallique.<\/p>\n<p>En appartement, le guide recommande notamment le <strong>compostage partag\u00e9 en pied d\u2019immeuble<\/strong> et le <strong>lombricompostage<\/strong>, qui n\u00e9cessite peu d\u2019espace.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les r\u00e9sidences, la mise en place d\u2019un composteur collectif suppose toutefois une organisation entre habitants, syndic, bailleur ou collectivit\u00e9 et la d\u00e9signation \u00e9ventuelle d\u2019un r\u00e9f\u00e9rent de site.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les volumes importants de d\u00e9chets v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, le document met \u00e9galement en avant le <strong>paillage<\/strong>.
