Featured in CACEM\u2019s 2023\u20132025 activity report, the Bestlife30 project covers three areas totaling 1,880 m\u00b2 and received a grant of 100,000 euros.<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Restoration of the Port Coh\u00e9 site continued in 2025 through several initiatives aimed at improving the condition of this natural environment. The Centre de la Martinique Urban Community (CACEM) specifically reports the removal of derelict vessels and the disposal of inert and hazardous waste. These operations were accompanied by further mangrove cleanup efforts as part of an ecological restoration initiative for the site.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2014<\/p>\n<h2>Cleanup and replanting efforts<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to waste removal, the operations also focused on<strong> mangrove replanting<\/strong>, in partnership with the association<strong> Roots of the Sea.<\/strong> This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at restoring degraded areas and promoting the natural recovery of biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p><em>The work carried out in 2025 thus combines <strong>the remediation of the affected areas and the restoration of vegetation. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, the report does not specify either the number of mangroves replanted or the results of any ecological monitoring. It therefore does not yet allow us to assess the effects of these interventions on the site\u2019s biodiversity.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>A project receiving 100,000 euros in funding<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Named Bestlife30 Port Coh\u00e9<\/strong>, the project has received a grant of <strong>100,000 euros<\/strong> to support the ecological restoration of three mangrove areas, covering <strong>a total area of 1,880 m\u00b2.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This area corresponds to the land covered by the program, not to an area where restoration has already been fully completed.
