The documentary screening in Les Trois Ilets will explore mangroves and the importance of preserving these fragile ecosystems. The Martinique Marine Nature Park, in partnership with Ciné Woulé, is organizing an outdoor movie screening on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Les Trois Ilets. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Place Paul Thévenard. It is supported by the Water Authority, the city of Les Trois Ilets, and the French Biodiversity Agency.
The movie to be shown on July 16, 2026, will be The Voice of the Mangroves, directed by Laure Martin Hernandez and Vianney Sotès. The screening will be followed by a discussion and light refreshments. The organizers ask attendees to bring something to sit on: chairs, armchairs, or beach mats. «Make yourselves comfortable and let yourselves be swept away by the magic of the images,» the organizers tell the audience.
Raise awareness about mangrove conservation issues
An outdoor movie screening is a great opportunity to raise public awareness about the importance of protecting Martinique’s mangrove forests.
This film screening is being organized in conjunction with the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems, which will be held on July 26. The goal is to remind people that mangrove ecosystems are very fragile and play a major role in protecting all terrestrial and marine ecosystems. This is yet another reason to care for and protect them.
Produced as a documentary, The Voice of the Mangroves is an ode to nature conservation in general and to the preservation of Martinique’s biodiversity in particular. This outdoor movie screening is part of the first edition of the program Biodiversity Summit 2026, stay tuned for the next edition!
