Aging Well: A Call for Proposals from the CFPPA

Sometimes abandoned, sometimes neglected, older adults are often overlooked in calls for proposals or initiatives within the social and solidarity economy. Yet they have a vital role to play in society, which is why social organizations have just issued a new call for proposals «to promote healthy aging.».

Caring for the Elderly

This call for proposals was initiated by the General Social Security Fund (CGSS) and the members of the Conference of Funders for the Prevention of Loss of Autonomy (CFPPA), at the intersection of prevention, social connections, and «aging well.».

In accordance with Law No. 2015-1775 of December 28, 2015, on adapting society to an aging population (ASV), the establishment of the CFPPA in Martinique aims to support older adults in preparing for the loss of independence and in adapting to aging.

The call for proposals is organized into several distinct areas: access to equipment and personal assistive devices, support for family caregivers, community-based prevention initiatives, and efforts to combat isolation.

The social and solidarity economy often focuses on the future and on raising awareness among young people, but sometimes overlooks our seniors, who nevertheless play an important role in our society.
