Committed to providing energy for the region, EDF Martinique is also working to promote social inclusion and solidarity among the island’s residents. Through a donation of computers, the energy company is helping to repurpose devices that might otherwise have been discarded and making them available to a population that is sometimes very unfamiliar with digital technology.

The territory’s leading energy company continues its efforts to serve the community through a donation of 60 used computers to 18 organizations in Martinique. This donation was formalized with the signing of an agreement on April 20, 2025, in Pointe des Carrières, EDF’s headquarters in Martinique.
In this way, EDF is strengthening its commitment to the public good. «This initiative is fully in line with a sustainable solidarity approach and illustrates EDF’s ongoing commitment in Martinique to working alongside community organizations to support social cohesion, youth, and digital inclusion in Martinique,» EDF stated in a press release.
Digital Access
EDF therefore plays a role in supporting the social and community-based development of Martinique’s residents, in partnership with local organizations. «These organizations, which are fully committed to serving the public, are active in key areas such as social and professional integration, bridging the digital divide, sports, culture, and the social and solidarity economy,» EDF explains in a press release.
This initiative is driven by a desire to promote digital literacy among populations who do not always have access to a computer or an internet connection. «This initiative aims to support the most vulnerable populations by facilitating their access to digital tools, which are now essential for gaining independence, accessing training, and promoting employment.»
