A gathering for young people
The Local Mission for Central Martinique is organizing a webinar to introduce young people to careers in the nuclear industry. The webinar is open to young people aged 16 to 25, and up to 29 for young people with disabilities. This event will take place on March 25, 2026; advance registration is required by calling 0596 75 20 00.
The event will take place at the France Travail offices in Schoelcher and online, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will begin with a presentation by an industry professional, followed by an interactive discussion featuring videos and «escape game»-style activities on nuclear energy, and will conclude with a presentation by LADOM, the Overseas Mobility Agency.
Energy for the Future?
Sometimes controversial, sometimes praised, nuclear power is a source of considerable tension and fuels debate between its supporters and opponents. However, while this form of energy is virtually nonexistent in France’s overseas departments and territories, it accounts for the vast majority of energy production in metropolitan France, which also supplies part of Europe.
For young people in France’s overseas territories, the nuclear industry could be an excellent career path; many engineers are trained there every year. Why not them?
