12,130 kg of waste collected during the 16th "Opération Pays Propre"

The 16th edition of Operation Clean Country took place over three days from

More than 23 sites were cleaned up by over 1,000 participants—a record! Among the participants were 10 companies, 11 organizations, 8 schools, and many individuals.

They collected more than 12,230 kilograms of trash.

Since 2010, Operation Clean Country has brought together businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and individuals to clean up notable sites throughout Martinique. The goal of this initiative is to raise awareness about waste reduction and the environmental and tourism-related impacts of waste on Martinique.

The islets haven’t been forgotten!

A team of about ten volunteers explored the islets of Saint-Anne. This effort was made possible thanks to the support of Bébéche and Taxi Cap, which provided transportation free of charge. participants to locations inaccessible on foot and to bring back the collected trash. An aerial survey had been conducted beforehand using an Aerodream autogyro.

Many partners have joined the effort

Several companies in Martinique funded this initiative. Each company was asked to contribute €15 per employee. This made it possible to fund the cleanup kits: a pair of gloves, a cap, and a T-shirt for each participant.
In the field, participants are provided with water and basic food supplies by various partners.

The association was also able to count on the support of numerous municipalities: Sainte-Anne, Le François, Le Vauclin, Case-Pilote, Saint-Pierre, Schoelcher, and the city of Le Lamentin.

The 17th edition is already scheduled for April 2019.
