This morning at the Villa Chanteclerc in Fort-de-France, the awards ceremony for the “Flower-Filled Towns and Villages” contest, organized by the Martinique Nature Park, took place. Of the 19 municipalities that participated in the contest, Sainte-Marie emerged as the winner, thus retaining the title it won in 2017.
Members of the jury—composed of representatives from institutions and landscaping professionals—visited all the participating towns and villages.
The awards presented locally range from 1 to 3 flowers, and Sainte-Marie won the maximum number. It is followed on the podium by Saint-Esprit, Ajoupa Bouillon, and Fonds Saint-Denis.
The committee also proposed entering Sainte-Marie in the national competition to earn a fourth flower.
