An innovative training program for corporate energy coordinators at OC2 Consultants, a consulting firm specializing in sustainable development.
The goal of this training is to equip «high-energy-consumption» facilities—regardless of the form of energy used—with the tools to achieve substantial energy savings.
OC2 Consultants was selected by the Technical Association for Energy and EEnvironment, the ATEE, to roll out the national training program in Guadeloupe, Martinique, and French Guiana PROREFEI, training of the « Energy Coordinators »in the manufacturing sector in 2019 and 2020.".

This training is intended for managers in production, engineering, maintenance, new construction, and general operations, as well as QSE and HSE managers responsible for controlling and optimizing energy consumption within the company, who may achieve savings of 10 to 20% on annual consumption and plan for greater savings over the long term. The industrial sector is primarily affected, but so are the service sector—including large-scale retail—and local governments.
Coverage of Training Costs
Among the innovations of this program, costs can be covered at 100 % (up to three employees per company) for industrial companies with fewer than three hundred employees (at 50% for those with more than three hundred). For other service sector companies, particularly local governments, standard funding through their OPCA is available, as OC2 Consultants is listed in DATADOCK.
An Innovative Multimodal Program
The program consists of three phases and includes mentoring throughout the educational process—that is, individualized support for each intern at the company provided by a trainer, which helps put what they’ve learned into practice.
Phase 1: A six-hour online course called a «MOOC» (Massive Open Online Course—editor’s note: an online course open to everyone), led by an instructor-tutor. The course covers and reviews the fundamentals of energy efficiency.
Phase 2: A two-day in-person training session held on consecutive days in each region. The training covers the role and responsibilities of the Energy Coordinator and the methodology to be implemented.
3th Duration: Individual support for each trainee in a work setting for two and a half days by a trainer-mentor to implement concrete energy-saving measures on the company’s premises. This support is provided both in person and remotely over several weeks.
