CAP Nord Martinique is launching a survey on perceptions of illegal dumping in the North. Conducted in collaboration with Aix-Marseille University, this survey is open to adult residents of the region and will remain open until August 31, 2026. The goal is to better understand how this littering and waste disposal is perceived in order to inform future actions.
Gaining a Better Understanding of How the Phenomenon Is Perceived
The study is not intended to identify illegal dumping sites or to directly measure the volume of abandoned waste. Its primary focus is on residents' perspective on this issue.
Based on the responses collected, CAP Nord and Aix-Marseille University aim to improve the existing knowledge on the subject. In particular, the results should provide additional information to guide discussions and future actions in northern Martinique.
The approach is therefore based on the residents’ experiences and perceptions, without imposing any «good» or «bad» Response. At this stage, no specific measures resulting from the study have been announced.
A public comment period open through August 31
The questionnaire is intended for residents of CAP Nord who are over 18 years of age. It is available online, can be completed in just a few minutes, and participation is entirely voluntary.
The organizers note that responses are anonymous and confidential. The data collected is stored on a secure server accessible to researchers and must be destroyed one month after the end of the response collection period.
