Planning and Structuring Investments
The energy company, EDF Martinique, is launching a review of the Renewable Energy Grid Connection Plan (S2REnR). This document helps structure, plan, and prioritize investments in renewable energy grid connections. «This revision follows the reaching of the regulatory thresholds for reserved capacity under the plan approved in 2020, a result of the strong momentum of solar and wind projects in Martinique,» EDF Martinique stated in a press release.
Connect to renewable energy sources
After the thresholds set forth in the previous plan, dating from 2020, were exceeded, the prefect of Martinique established, in March 2026, «a target connection capacity of 175 MW.» This threshold set by the authorities is intended to enable EDF to adjust its investments and projects accordingly.
As the lead agency for the plan, «EDF is publishing its statement of intent to inform citizens and stakeholders about the process for revising the plan and their participation in its development,» the company states in its press release. An environmental study and a public consultation will complement the projections, modifications, and improvements proposed by EDF.
