EDF Martinique has announced that it will be organizing seminars for social workers in Martinique. The goal? To strengthen EDF’s social initiatives in partnership with local organizations and institutions. This announcement comes amid rising energy prices and declining purchasing power.
Energy & Solidarity
Each year, EDF Martinique’s Solidarity Division receives and processes approximately 400 requests from households in Martinique that are facing financial difficulties. EDF handles these requests in collaboration with local organizations and institutions. In addition, EDF contributes annually to the Housing Solidarity Fund (FSL).
EDF teams are active throughout Martinique in an effort to reach as many customers as possible. «In addition to financial assistance programs, EDF in Martinique operates service desks at three France Services locations spread across the island (Lorrain, François, and Anses d’Arlets),» explains EDF.
Organizing seminars
As the region’s leading energy company, EDF is committed to combating energy poverty and organizes several seminars for social workers in Martinique. «The goal of these sessions is twofold: to raise social workers» awareness of existing programs and to enable them to serve as local liaisons for customers. Participants were trained on available financial assistance, including the energy voucher, payment plan options, and digital tools such as the Solidarity Services Access Portal (PASS),” EDF stated in a press release.
Finally, organizing these seminars reinforces EDF’s efforts to support customers facing difficulties. «These seminars demonstrate our commitment to working collectively with local stakeholders to ensure sustainable access to electricity. »Our mission at EDF—and particularly within the Solidarity Division—is to support all customers, especially the most vulnerable,” explains Daniela BEROARD, head of EDF’s Solidarity Division in Martinique.
