Epi, well done, Dachine!

The Machann’ Foyal association, the city of Fort-de-France, and the company FARIBA are organizing the «Epi Bon Dachine» event from Wednesday through Saturday at Place Monseigneur Roméro in Fort-de-France.

An event aimed at promoting local taro production and its various uses.

Visitors can find a variety of vendors there, such as the Gato Péyi Nou bakery, which offers a wide range of products made with cassava flour: lemon, orange, and pineapple cakes, as well as breads made with dried banana and chocolate…

Chef Lamic Olivier will also be on hand to give live demonstrations of recipes made with cassava flour, such as delicious muffins, fritters, and sweet and savory cookies.

«More than 3 metric tons of dachines will be sold at this event!» says Evelyne FAMIBELL, president of the Machann’ Foyal Association.

An event that gives the public a chance to learn more about this excellent vegetable, which is grown mainly in the northern part of our island.
