In accordance with Law No. 2014-856 of July 31, 2014, on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), Franck ROBINE, Prefect of Martinique and Alfred MARIE-JEANNE,Chair of the Executive Board of the CTM are pleased to invite you to the First Regional Conference on the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS), Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Madiana Convention Center – Lecture Hall 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The purpose of this conference, which will now be held every two years, is to to discuss the direction, resources, and results of SSE development policies in Martinique
As such, it requires extensive consultation with local stakeholders (private, institutional, and partners); ;
A preparatory phase in which more than 150 local stakeholders participated—through workshops as well as written contributions—began in November 2017 and helped identify areas for reflection and action centered on five main issues:
1. Promote the creation and development of social economy enterprises and jobs
2. Revitalizing the Martinique region through the development of the social and solidarity economy
3. Supporting social innovation and sustainable development
4. Encourage volunteerism and social engagement
5. Identify and clarify the mechanisms for financing the social and solidarity economy.
The first ESS Conference will therefore provide an opportunity to continue the collaborative effort begun with local stakeholders to develop the 2018–2020 roadmap.
At the conclusion of this conference, An event to bring together and foster dialogue with the key stakeholders involved in supporting and financing the social and solidarity economy will be organized at the Madiana Convention Center—Taïnos Hall, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
