For ten days, Fort-de-France becomes a mecca for street art thanks to the International Public Art Festival, a traveling international festival that combines artistic creation, regional promotion, and environmental awareness

This is the 8th edition of the mural art festival contemporary urban. This special edition is part of an effort to highlight Martinique’s natural and cultural heritage, focusing on the theme of “flora and fauna.”.
A Canadian-based artists' collective is behind this event, which began in 2014 on HolBox Island in Mexico. “Since then, IPAF has produced more than 150 murals inspired by environmental and social themes. IPAF enjoys high visibility in Mexico, South Africa, and France.”
This festival, which brings together about fifteen renowned local and international artists, is committed to an eco-friendly and environmentally responsible approach. Here, aerosol cans are banned, and only acrylic paint is made available to the artists. In addition, the organizers have replaced plastic bottles with water fountains, arrange for artists to travel via public transportation, and primarily serve locally sourced food through the caterer “Brunch ô peyi.” IPAF also aims to be a unifying event, thanks to the diversity of the artists’ backgrounds and influences, which breaks down all kinds of barriers. It is an event that connects with the local community, as the team—which has been on the ground in Martinique for three months—works with local suppliers and actively engages with the region. Furthermore, this street event—which will permanently transform the Foyalais landscape—primarily involves the people of Martinique, who will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the creation of monumental murals in the heart of Fort-de-France.
