Committing to Biodiversity. The National Botanical Conservatory of Martinique is launching its new program for La Belle Saison 2026. This program is for everyone, and through numerous events throughout the month of May, it aims to raise broad public awareness of the challenges of preserving biodiversity. It’s a fun and practical way to get involved in environmental protection.
An eclectic program
Exhibitions, outings, workshops, and gatherings: there’s something for everyone. The 2026 summer season kicks off with the «EXI(S)TERE» exhibition, which will be held at the Tropiques Atrium from May 12 to May 30 and will open with a reception on May 11. This exhibition was «conceived as an ode to wild plants» by Amandine Polet, who describes herself as an «artivist.».
On Wednesday, May 13, a botanical field trip will be held, called Getting to Know the Courbaril. «A botanical field trip to (re)discover the species around us in the wild. We know you’ve been waiting for this!» say the organizers.
Finally, the workshop Adopt a Courbaril will be held on May 28; participants will take their seedlings home with them. It is ’a hands-on workshop where you can get your hands dirty… and take home a seedling to grow at home.«.
For Biodiversity
This new program for the 2026 «Belle Saison» season at the National Botanical Conservatory of Martinique is part of the effort to protect biodiversity. “This year’s edition is dedicated to the discovery, education, and celebration of our native flora, with a special focus on one species in particular,” say the organizers.
The events in this program are available only to registered participants. The event is supported by public entities committed to biodiversity: the Prefecture of Martinique, the French Office for Biodiversity, and the city of Fort-de-France. «Check out the program for the 2026 edition now and get ready for a series of events dedicated to flora and its conservation,» the organizers say by way of invitation.
