Lavéo is a service provided by the Active association, which is a member of the national network of the same name.
This social enterprise offers an eco-friendly car wash service that is performed by hand, without water, using biodegradable and environmentally friendly products.
Lavéo caters to local governments and businesses that care about the environment and their public image, as well as to individuals who need cleaning services at their workplace. Employees in work-training programs can provide service anywhere there is an electrical outlet to plug in the vacuum cleaner and other equipment. The average duration of a service call ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes, depending on the service selected and the vehicle category (interior cleaning, exterior cleaning, seat shampooing, etc.).
The car is washed using a microfiber cloth that won’t scratch the vehicle, as well as a 99% biodegradable product made from plant residues. There are no chemicals involved, so employees and customers have nothing to worry about, as there are no harmful fumes.
«The program began in 2017, and about ten young people were trained. The first training session was led by an instructor from Lavéo in mainland France, who clearly explained the procedures and methods; since then, the young people themselves have been responsible for training the next group, and so on. They’re passionate about what they do, which allows them to pass on their skills to newcomers. Currently, there are three of them, along with a supervisor who reaches out to businesses,» explains Lynéda Flériag, operations manager.
Simple and effective, waterless washing offers many advantages, as it saves 60 liters of water compared to conventional washing and 200 liters of water compared to roller washing. Furthermore, there’s no need to manage water treatment, unlike with a Karcher wash, where you have to be careful about water drainage.
The organization's goal today is to continue growing by increasing its hiring rate, which, of course, depends on demand.
