Sort, recycle, reuse. That’s the goal of this new phase of Kay Pwop, an initiative to promote waste collection throughout Martinique. Following a collection drive in January 2026, the final collection session will be held on March 25, 2026.
Last stage, last chance
The Kay Pwop tour will make its final stop on March 25, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Place des Fêtes, Rocher Zombie in Rivière-Pilote. The event is organized by the Entreprises & Environnement association. This is the last chance to drop off waste, trash, and other bulky items for free. «Come out in large numbers to learn about the sorting and recycling systems available in Martinique and take this opportunity to get rid of what’s cluttering up your space,» the organizers remind visitors on their website.
This final stage follows on the heels of the Kay Pwop initiative, a previous edition of which had already been held on January 28, 2026, in the town of Ducos.

The initiative was born out of the idea of facilitating the recycling of consumer products and goods in order to prevent, at the source, the negative environmental impacts caused by illegal dumping.
The organizers list the various items that can be recycled: light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, electrical and electronic devices, household appliances, sports and recreational equipment, household packaging, used motor oil, games and toys, unused medications, furniture, upholstery and mattresses, batteries, tires without rims, textiles—even worn ones (household linens, clothing, shoes)—and lawn mowers, brush cutters, and leaf blowers. It is very important to follow the classification and list of items above, as each corresponds to a specific recycling or reuse stream. As for items not listed, they will not be collected by the organizers during this new and final Kay Pwop session. See you on March 25.
