There’s only one Wednesday left—August 7—to experience these days of creative relaxation in the heart of the Domaine d’Emeraude.

Every year, the Martinique Natural Park organizes artistic and craft workshops on three Wednesdays during summer vacation in the lush setting of the Domaine d’Emeraude—a “Remarkable Garden”—in Morne-Rouge. There, participants learn how to weave bakoua and coconut leaves, carve calabashes, and sculpt stone; they get introduced to drawing and kite-making; they play various games from around the world…and they enjoy the flower-filled gardens in the shade of tall trees.

The Domaine d’Emeraude is a 24-hectare nature reserve nestled between Mount Pelée and the Pitons du Carbet on the Route de la Trace. It features a landscaped forest with a 4-kilometer walking trail, an educational and interactive exploration pavilion, and a “Jardin des Origines” that highlights Caribbean ethnopharmacology.
